Honey mustard sauce was one of the first dipping sauces I learned to master. A friend and I created dozens of versions before finally settling on our favorite combination of sweet, tangy, and salty.
Honey mustard sauce deserves sweet potato fries.
Honey mustard sauce deserves fried chicken.
Honey mustard sauce deserves a Cobb salad. (You don’t have to eat a Cobb with vinaigrette. I say it’s ok.)
*1/4 c. mayonnaise
*1 tbsp. yellow mustard
*1 tbsp. honey
*1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Instructions: Put all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Dip away!
This was probably one of the very first sauces I had to make at home after having it as a dipping sauce somewhere. Still love it!
This looks like the ideal dipping sauce. I love dipping and now I have a go to sauce!
The sauce sounds really great to serve with some Wiener Schnitzel!
I adore honey mustard sauce! Thank you for sharing this simple recipe with me tonight….I want to get into my kitchen now and dip! I hope you have a wonderful vacation. Hugs from Austin!
I hate mustard, but I love honey mustard sauce. How weird is that? Thanks for this recipe!
Yummy! I want this drizzled on steamed asparagus. I should head to the store right now to make that happen.
I love my honey mustard with nuggets too! I’ve never added mayo to mine but I think I should start. This looks so much richer than what I make. Thanks for the recipe.
I adore all things mustard including this! I hope you have a wonderful vacation
This is timely for me. My mom and I were recently talking about how to make honey mustard sauce. I didn’t realize mayonnaise is the base.
Enjoy your vacation!
You don’t have to use mayo, but I like my sauce creamy, so I do!
yum perfect for dipping fires or onion rings!! have a great vacation!

I love honey mustard, but have never made it. Thanks for the recipe. Hope you are having a great vacation!
It is always nice to have recipes like this tucked away to make when needed. This is my first visit to your blog so I’ve taken some time to browse through your earlier entries. I’m so glad I did that. I really like the recipes you share with your readers and I’ll definitely be back. I hope you have a great day. Blessings…Mary
Thank you for visiting, Mary. Look forward to reading more of your recipes too.
I can totally see myself slathering this on some wings. Looks and sounds delicious.
Yum! Thank you!
Made this sauce, it was delicious–not too tangy. Thanks for the recipe!
This is such a simple sauce! It’s a fantastic recipe. I’ve prepared it twice for the day already!
Thank you! I’m extraordinarily picky about hnoey mustard and I’ve never been able to find one I liked, this is -perfect-. No exaggeration. This is my ideal honey mustard.
This sauce sounds really easy and amazing! If I dont use the Worcestershire sauce is there any substitute sauce I can use? But with the same quality?
Thank You,
Karen
Hi Karen! You should be fine just leaving it out. It’s only a tiny bit of Worcestershire that I typically throw in. But, if you must, a little bit of salt might be good. Or a soy sauce could give you a nice twist.
This recipe was great. Also it would go great with one tablespoon of tobasco hot sauce and if that is to hot then add a little more of the yellow mustard.
For The Vegans: Use Veganaise instead of Mayo.
hi, I want to make this sometime this week. I have all the ingredients, but the mayo. I have Miracle Whip. Do u think that will work just fine or should I make a trip to the grocery store to get some mayo?
I think Miracle Whip can work…assuming you like the tang of MW. I say give it a shot and see what you think.
Best honey mustard i have ever had, rivals chic-fil-a’s smokey honey mustard
I see asterisks in front of the ingredients, which usually mean there is a footnote, but I can’t find any footnotes. So can you please tell me what the asterisks mean? Thanks so much
Hi Cathie. They don’t mean anything. I chose to use the * instead of a bullet, because I don’t always like the spacing with bullets. Sorry for the confusion. I’ll try to fix it.
